EK1100 | EtherCAT Coupler
The EK1100 coupler connects EtherCAT to the EtherCAT terminals.
A station consists of an EK1100 coupler, any number of EtherCAT terminals and a bus terminal.
The coupler converts passing telegrams from Ethernet 100BASE-TX to E-bus signal representation.
The coupler is connected to the network via the upper Ethernet interface.
The lower RJ45 connector can be used to connect additional EtherCAT devices in the same string.
In the EtherCAT network, the EK1100 connector can be installed anywhere in the Ethernet signal transmission section (100BASE-TX) – except directly on the switch.
EK1000 are suitable for mounting on the switch
EtherCAT Coupler housing
The EtherCAT Coupler electronics can be mounted in a variety of housings.
A housing has three power switches that, if the application requires, automatically implement a continuous connection that carries the potential of the circuit to the next EtherCAT terminal.
The supply voltage, which is connected to clutch spring-loaded terminals, is 24 V DC.
If a different voltage is required for the power switches, the appropriate power supply terminal must be inserted after the coupler.
