Collaboration with Aarhus University
As a manufacturing company, it is essential to be able to assess whether digitalisation technology investments are paying off.
So far, it has been difficult to figure out, and a lack of overview is causing many to drop digital production technology investments.
With Aarhus University’s Center for Digital Twins – established, May 2019 – the overview is strengthened. The center is based on interdisciplinary technology research and the goal is to determine whether digital twins can provide a more flexible production technology with many applications.
A total solution was essential. One wanted a plug & play complete solution from a one-stop-shop supplier.
It was important that the supplier could effectively handle the entire process: from initial advice over delivery and installation to ongoing service and support, the quality should be top notch.
Techicon created a complete solution consisting of two connected module boards, mounted respectively. a UR3 and a UR5 robot.
In addition, a MiR-200 robot and Robotiq grippers are included in the solution together with a complete installation package, which can be used in the research in the production case around digital twins.
The collaboration between Technicon and AU strengthens production companies’ ability to predict whether a digital twin will be able to improve their production.
Technicon’s solution benefits students, researchers and small and medium-sized enterprises who need knowledge about the possibilities of flexible automation in a digital twin context.
