ABL 800 FLEX

The ABL800 FLEX blood gas analyzer is capable of measuring up to 18 different parameters and provides high analytical performance in the central laboratory of many hospitals, where the instrument analyzes incoming samples from the individual departments.

Several of the steps normally associated with blood gas testing are highly automated when using the ABL800 FLEX analyzer. With the increase workload at the hospitals the desire for automation arises especially in relation to the blood sample processing.

SOLUTION OVERVIEW

ABL800 FLEX is a highly automated stand-alone solution, where a compact and reliable UR3e cobot from Universal Robot, with a lifting weight of 3 kilos and a range of 500 mm, automatically enters and performs the blood tests.

At the same time, a cobot from Universal Robots is user-friendly. It is easy to use and with the intuitive user interface and the advanced software and hygienic grippers developed for the medical industry, it provides a wide range of tasks, that several employees can handle easily and simply.

In this case, the ambition is for the UR3e solution to take test tubes from a tray or a dedicated stop, possibly remove the cap, register the sample, hold the test tube during aspiration on the ABL800 FLEX, and when the analysis is completed, return the test tube to the tray for completed or incomplete samples.
